AODay_Sports --> Abilene

With this article, I’m shifting away from sports for the moment to reflect on the beginning of my post-college career.

9 days ago, I accepted a position as a producer for KTXS, the ABC station in Abilene owned by Sinclair. I start my new job August 5 and cannot wait to begin the next chapter in my life.

With this move - both location and career-wise - I won’t be able to work in sports for two years. This breaks my heart, as I love sports and always envisioned working a long career in sports broadcasting.

Even with a broken heart, this is a great opportunity for me to further advance my career and expand my skillset so that I can return to the sports world even stronger once my time with KTXS comes to an end.

This won’t be my last article, by any stretch of the imagination. I plan on continuing to write, both for KTXS’s website and this blog. I began my career writing, and it would be a waste of talent to stop, even temporarily, for my new job.
